Today I “finished” my fifth novel. The cover above is thanks to multiple AI programs and a knowedgable son!

What does this mean? Revisions, then more revisions, then publishing. I can publish straight to Amazon again. It’s inexpensive and I have complete control. But then I keep thinking…

A few weeks ago my sister came for the weekend. We had family coming on Saturday to make tamales, so we spent Friday with Alyssa having lunch, then running errands. Along the way we came across a new independent book store in San Ramon, The Quirky Crow. We chatted with the owner, and I learned where independent book stores get their stock: Ingram. NOT Amazon. They looked it up, and could get my first two books, but not the Amazon only titles. The stories I am most proud of.

I remembered a bit later I had checked into IngramSpark independent publishing a while ago. I don’t know why I didn’t look into them further, but as I type this, I know I will be digging deeper into their services. It’s just my time; I know I have a plan for publishing once revisions are done. It’s nice to have choices (maybe).

So I have work to do: figure out this new website, which does not feature my blogs, nor link to them. I need to do this soon, or continue to be frustrated week after week. I need to revise my manuscript, and check into self-publishing. Maybe I will begin querying again. I am assuming it would be a different set of agents for a historical fantasy than realistic fiction. But what do I know?

I am a teacher first, and this continues to be a time-consuming, but totally rewarding, hobby. With 73 days of school left, a lot of this could wait until summer break. But then I wouldn’t have as much time for book 6…

The dilemma continues… Until next time!
