You’ve probably all heard the saying. Anything worth doing is worth doing RIGHT. Sometimes that isn’t easy. Last month, I published my 5th book. But I didn’t blog about it, until now. Using IngramSpark publishing was a learning experience, and continues to be as I travel down this road.

I was unable to preview my book once I uploaded the PDF of my manuscript. So I ordered a few copies and crossed my fingers. They arrived, I celebrated with cake, then decided I was disappointed. The cover just wasn’t right, the margins inside were wonky, and it wasn’t something I was proud of. So I went back and revised, hopefully creating something I can be proud of.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I love the story, and have ideas for the next historical fantasy in my series. Gold Rush, I am coming for you! Or, rather, Callie and Collin will be!

But I needed to get The Capybara Flag Revolt settled, and soon. So now I am on spring break, with LOTS of time to sort this situation out. So between hikes with Alyssa and Sripriya, and urban hikes with Claire and Stacey, I am making the effort to improve my already published book. Yes, it’s a process, and I am jumping in with both feet. Or all fingers…

Thanks, ChatGPT for existing! Turning my photos in sketches saved me so much time, and will enhance my readers’ experience. I hope…

So my break is over. Time to finish revising, and students, keep this in mind. Even when you think you are done, you might not be. Ask yourself, “Is this my best work? Am I incredibly proud of what I have produced?” If it’s not a resounding “YES!”, then take another look. It will be worth it in the end.

Until next time! Now that I have news to share!
