I started writing because I needed an outlet for my worries about going back to school after a year and a half of remote teaching. My first book was born from this anxiety, and I realized I loved writing! And I was sort of good at it… Five books later, I am still energized by new ideas and stories percolating in my mind.

Lisa Freels is a long-time elementary school teacher. With a deep love of teaching, learning, and history, she’s always looking to try something new. One summer she decided to write a book. This became her first novel, and the beginning of a new endeavor. Lisa lives in California’s East Bay, and incorporates much of her own life into her books. Her grown children might see themselves in her characters, as do her students. Living with her hubby and two cats, she continues to write for her students. Never for fame and fortune!
